The Evolution of Perception with Donald D. Hoffman
Donald D. Hoffman, a cognitive scientist at UC Irvine, discusses the evolutionary roots of perception and whether or not our sensory systems accurately represent reality. Many scientists believe that primitive sensory systems are less realistic, and by the time we get to humans, our systems are more complicated and estimating more accurately, but Hoffman argues that there may be an infinite wisdom in the non-conceptual systems of lower creatures.
