Researchers have analyzed the lifespan of horticultural groups living close to ancestral circumstances and found that genes do not make decisions, but rather switch to a better survival strategy- creating an economic sense where it pays off for the female to stop reproducing and instead become a grandmother to secure the survival of the group.
