The Fall of Peru's President
Peru's former president Alberto Fujimori fled the country amid a scandal in 2000, paving the way for Alejandro Toledo to become the country's leader. Eventually, Toledo was accused of taking bribes and also fled the country, leaving the presidency to Alan García, followed by Ollanta Humala, and Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. Then came Martín Vizcarra, who was impeached after only two years, and Manuel Merino, who was president for only five days before being forced to resign. This brings us to a man named Francisco Sagasti, who was just sworn in as Peru's president on November 16th.
