Mary always had a suspicion that the bones weren't truly her son's, and she thought the medical examiner's office had just given her these remains to give her peace of mind. They were the remains of Steven Sickman, a 17-year-old boy who was last seen walking down West 34th Street shortly after midnight on July 20, 1972.
