The idea of a fossil fuel elimination future is a false promise, as many countries continue to rely on fossil fuels for power, leaving those who eliminate them vulnerable and disempowered. The Green New Deal's net zero agenda is unlikely to be possible as most of the world still relies on fossil fuels to power their economies.
