The Formation of the Weimar Republic
After the end of World War I, a coalition consisting of the far left and center left emerged, which consisted of both social democrats and even centrists who were tired of the war that didn't seem to be working out. However, the coalition was only united in their desire to end the war and get rid of the king, and the social democrats had to bear the responsibility of negotiating the surrender and establishing a republic after the king left.
