Three workers at the Fukushima nuclear power plant suffered from severe radiation exposure in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami in 2011. Despite the efforts of the emergency responders, the workers suffered from critical medical conditions due to the lack of protocols in place, causing one of them to tragically lose his life.
