Genetic genealogy is increasingly helping police departments solve serious crimes, and experts believe it will become as routine as fingerprinting. DNA lab Parabon has already created a genetic genealogy unit for police contracts and breakthroughs in at least 15 cases around the US have occurred since the identification of the Golden State Killer.
