The Great Heathen Army or the Great Army was a Viking army that invaded the British Isles in 865 CE which is mentioned in the Icelandic sagas and compared to historical novels based on real events. The army is believed to be led by Ivar, the Boneless and mentioned in the Annals of Ulster.
