JIDS (The Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust’s Gender Identity Development Service) have referred a nine-year-old for puberty blockers, which is concerning as they only had just started the potentially dangerous treatment on the last young person to the study. The number of children being referred to this service has also coincided with the increase in the widespread availability of puberty blockers.
