The deaths of Sarah and her two children at the Myrtles Plantation were attributed to yellow fever, but it's possible it was caused by the toxic plant, yellow oleander. The plantation has undergone many renovations over the years and now boasts 22 rooms and unique features like a wraparound veranda and a crystal chandelier imported from France.
