The capacity of humans to propagate ideas is a result of the size of the cerebral cortex which enhances human abilities to coordinate and build civilizations. The concept of memes or ideas breeding, as popularized by Dawkins, is an interesting rhetorical device but ultimately ideas are inventions made and propagated by humans.
