The Hydra's family was extremely anti-Semitic and they placed a great deal of importance on denying rumors about their beliefs throughout the war years, even going so far as to sue an encyclopedia for libel. The question remains whether their beliefs exceeded the background level of anti-Semitism in German Catholic Protestant culture.
