Saudi Aramco's private fleet bought up the world's supply of hard drives to replace all their affected drives after a cyberattack and this, coupled with a typhoon halting production of certain hard drive facilities, resulted in a global rise in hard drive prices. Some of the drives were damaged, but the company wanted to recover the data instead of reformatting them.
