Contrary to popular belief, data suggests that children born after the abortion ban in Romania did worse in every area of life - from school to labor market success - and were also more likely to become criminals. The people who were getting abortions before the ban were mostly middle-class, educated women, who knew about the official medical system and could afford to go to a doctor.
