The Covid-19 pandemic has had serious effects on education worldwide, especially in impoverished countries, where children have lost opportunities to study and develop crucial skills, and are facing challenges such as having to work or being sold into sex slavery. The conversation about the impact of Covid-19 on education should not focus solely on the privileged West, but must also address the issues faced by those living in the Global South.
