The Inca Ritual Sacrifices and High Altitude Archeology
Johan Reinhard, a National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, went on expeditions in search of the Inca ritual sacrifice sites and discovered that the Incas constructed stone structures on nearly 100 different mountains in just over 60 years during a time of high altitude archeology. The sites survived the Spanish conquest and the mummies found in the sites were left with valuable artefacts like gold and silver.
