The Lovelock Cave was used for nearly 4,000 years by the Lovelock culture, who had reddish hair and left behind over 10,000 artifacts that were found during a decade of excavation by anthropologist Dr. Loud. The legend surrounding the area claims that it was once inhabited by a race of giant red-headed cannibals named the Sitaka.
