Human-machine interfaces are inevitable if we figure out how to read electric impulses that control our body, brain, thoughts, vocal cords, and limbs. Our brain can co-opt other parts of the brain to control different body functions after a catastrophic accident and retrain itself to walk, read, play, speak a language, etc.
