The Radium Girls of 20th Century America
The Radium Girls were a group of female factory workers in the early 1900s who were exposed to deadly amounts of radium while using it to paint watch faces, leading to cancer and death. They were also unknowingly ingesting the radium by using a technique called lip pointing.
