A chart published in Dan Gilbert's book on behavioral economics shows that the more money you have, the more your satisfaction goes up. Going from zero to 30,000 dollars to 75,000 dollars gives you a bigger jump in happiness than going from 1 million to 2 million or 2 million to 4 million.
