There is an intense feeling of victimization on the political right that they feel persecuted by society, a general public that no longer accepts or shares their views and that has become something like organizing principle. However, the conservative legal movement has been working over the last 40 years to build a network of power and ideas, to obtain all the political power they could, and to be ready for a world in which they could control the Supreme Court.
