Charif Souki, formerly of Cheniere Energy, wanted to start his own fracking operation and sell the liquefied gas directly to overseas buyers. After being ousted from Cheniere's board, he teamed up with another LNG executive to found Tolurian and build an export terminal in Louisiana.
