Tumblr became a hub for teen fandoms allowing users to engage in all kinds of fandom around big properties but also became a place for erotic fan art and pornography. However, after Yahoo's acquisition in 2013 and the ban on adult content in 2018, Tumblr lost its fandom community and influence.
