The Rise of the SS and Heidrich's Role in Creating an Enemy Narrative
Heinrich Himmler and Reinhard Heidrich created a scenario where Nazism's enemies went beyond the persecution of political opposition, and instead portrayed an all-pervasive and subtly camouflaged network of enemies who made necessary a sophisticated security system to detect and defeat them. Heidrich identified the enemies as world Jewry, world Freemasonry, and political priests who abused freedom of religious expression for political reasons.
