The school to prison pipeline is the result of teachers not wanting to deal with complex students' problems which lead to special needs children being referred to police or subjected to a school-related arrest. A 2013-2014 report showed that black students were 27 times more likely to be arrested than white students leading to 8,000 arrests in just two years.
