The Greenbrier in West Virginia was secretly built by the U.S. government as a bunker to house Congress during a nuclear attack. It was chosen because it was located four hours away from Washington, D.C., and was beneath a resort that nobody suspected would house a bunker, given it was designed by Dorothy Draper, one of the greatest interior designers of all time.
