Researchers have discovered that humans are highly cooperative by default, sharing up to 50% of their resources with strangers when asked. This shift in thinking contradicts the previously popular notion that humans are solely motivated by self-interest, a belief popularized by Richard Dawkins' book, Selfish Gene.
