Jack Parsons and L. Ron Hubbard started a business together with the ulterior motive of furthering their occult practices which included nightly incantation rituals. The business went nowhere while the two engaged in more magical endeavors, and it is speculated that Hubbard used the partnership to present an image of himself as being cool with Parsons and Betty's affair.
