The diesel, kerosene, and kerosene-based jet fuel exceeded the temperature needed for the steel in the World Trade Center to fail, causing the catastrophic event. The generator within the complex containing a 25,000-gallon tank of diesel fuel continuously ran to keep the 911 system up and running in case of emergency.
