Jane Goodall recounts the tragic death of Mr. McGregor, a chimpanzee that got paralyzed with polio during the polio epidemic that affected the chimpanzees in the reserve. She also reflects on the fear of strangeness that led chimpanzees to shun Mr. McGregor and the importance of reaching the heart in changing somebody's mind.
