The Union County Massacre of 1871 in the US saw the collective violence and retaliation between the subcultures of the recently freed Black people and the clansmen that were dominant in the area. The black militia mimicked the subculture of collective violence prevalent in the area and their actions were not taken kindly by the local white elitists.
