Narcissism is a deep sense of inadequacy and vulnerability within the self that is compensated for by aggression, envy, and disregard for the thoughts and feelings of others. Though narcissistic individuals do care about others, it is solely in relation to themselves, leading to a focus on fulfilling their own desires at the expense of others.
