The human bias towards associating intelligence with behaviors associated with the desire to survive often leads to assuming that robots too can exhibit intelligence when they showcase similar behaviors. Programming robots to have a sense of protecting their power source could add depth and grounding to their intelligence, enabling humans to respect and possibly evoke empathy for robots.
