The University of Utah has settled a lawsuit with the family of a deceased student athlete, Lauren McCluskey, for $13.5 million after mishandling her case of domestic violence, which led to her murder in 2018. The settlement money will go to the Lauren McCluskey Foundation missions and an athletic facility and violence prevention center will be named after her.
