Mexican cartels are using weaponized drones to traffic munitions and weapons, causing increasing violence and instability in conflict zones such as Michoacán, where the federal police forces are working with local cartels to defend against a larger cartel moving in. Homemade mortars and IEDs have also made a resurgence in Mexico.
