The Women of Liberia Mass Action for Peace (WLMAP) formed under the leadership of Leymah Gbowee to demand an end to the conflict and issued a statement condemning all sides for their abuses of women and children. Muslim policewoman, Asatu Ba Kenneth joined and mobilized other Muslim women to join the movement after being impressed with the women's vision.
