Inferring the Evolutionary History of Objects
The assembly index is the ordering, or partial ordering, of all the things that can happen based on the depth of how far you've gone into the space of all possible things and how much time was required to get there. Although we cannot infer an object's entire history, we can infer the time it took to create it.
