Tactics Pirates Use to Board Merchant Ships
Pirates use grappling hooks thrown onto the barbed wire around the ship to try and make the ship turn and create a calm area where they can board and take over the ship. A level four boarding involves pirates being on board and holding crew members hostage, leading to lengthy negotiations for ransom.
