While some interventions may proportionately extend healthspan, nothing has ever convincingly extended the end period of life, or the decrepit state, which is a hard question to resolve. However, rapamycin and caloric restriction seem to push the declines in function and diseases back later into life, disproportionately extending the healthspan in mice compared to lifespan.
