Not all individuals with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) experience subjective distress or social and occupational impairment. Therefore, a diagnosis of NPD cannot be made just because someone else is bothered by their behavior. The diagnosis may not be useful as it lacks effective treatment options.
