A study was conducted on male mice which were fed a high inflammatory diet, where it was found that this diet could alter the expression of genes, without changing any nucleotide. The study revealed that the diet turned off a gene that contributes to the production of insulin in pancreatic islet cells in the sperm DNA of fathers.
