The FDA requires a disproportionate number of people in the MDMA group to experience suicide attempts or successes compared to the placebo group in order to deem it too dangerous for treatment. Past fears of MDMA causing nerve terminal degeneration are unfounded, and recent studies have shown it to be promising in treating PTSD.
