The creation of humanoid robots that can act and experience the world as richly as humans is challenging due to the biomechanics involved and the difficulty in perceiving the world through all senses, including touch. Developing strategies through self-play in simulation is possible, but building a physical robot that can compete in a grappling event is still a complex feat.
