The enzyme ACE2 is responsible for reducing oxidative stress and increasing antioxidants, but when it's removed, obesity and oxidative stress become a vicious cycle. Obesity causes oxidative stress, which in turn causes more obesity, and once the cycle starts, it's hard to break out of it.
