The Neural Pathway Behind Appetite for Certain Foods
Researchers have found that there is a neural pathway from the subconscious signaling from the vagus to the dopamine centers of the brain that drives an appetite for certain kinds of foods, but these signals can also induce satiety when the neuro pods cells in the gut are satisfied. The use of alternative stimuli, such as omega-3's and L-glutamine, activate the same neurons, reducing sugar cravings and facilitating the provision of essential amino acids and fatty acids in the body.
