The implementation of carbon offsetting is causing a shadow industry of measuring carbon emission which does not reduce carbon footprints, but rather adds a layer of bureaucracy to address materiality when caught. The most productive strategy would be to lower the barriers of capital to further innovate and create things that can measureably eliminate carbon emission from the environment.
