The American Government has seven purposes which are a more perfect union, justice, domestic peace, common defense, general welfare, liberty, and posterity. While some view the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution as one in the same, others recognize their differences but still value the important ideals, including life, liberty, and property, that they represent.
