Edward Bernays used his PR techniques to create news stories around the country about the health benefits of bananas, allowing United Fruit to grow and export them at low costs, but at the expense of local workers and the nation of Guatemala. Additionally, most of Bernays's anti-communist work was done in the name of a corporation rather than the US government.
